PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable small type router provided with a bit taking out operation mechanism capable of taking out a bit from a bit securing section with ease by operating the router from the outside. SOLUTION: In the portable small size router provided with the bit securing section which is constituted in such a way that with the shank section of the bit secured and held on the one end side of a casing in which a electric motor and its controller are incorporated, the bit is rotated, a bit taking out operation mechanism by which the bit can be taken out from the bit securing section by moving the shank section end of the bit secured and held in the bit securing section in the direction to separate by outside operation.
