METHOD FOR FORWARDING DIGITAL INFORMATION GENERATED IN A TDMA SYSTEM VIA AN ATM TRANSMISSION PATH

According to the inventive method for forwarding digital information which has been generated in a TDMA system, the transmission frames of each connection are packed in ATM cells and these cells are transmitted via an ATM transmission path. The completion times for the transmission frames of the connections for the individual carrier frequencies of the TDMA system are temporally staggered in such a way that they are essentially evenly spread out over each individual time frame of the TDMA system. A base station (FP1) of a mobile radio system which functions according to a TDMA process has an output data field (ADF) which is configured to provide the transmission frames for each connection. This output data field (ADF) is connected to an ATM packet assembly (ATP) which is configured for packing the transmission frames in ATM cells destined for forwarding to a control and processing unit (BSC) of the mobile radio network (NET). The output data field (ADF) is also configured for completing the connection transmission frames in accordance with the above method.
