PURPOSE: A method and device for embodying a chatting site generating an event is provided to enhance an interest of a user by making an unexpected event during a dialogue between users. CONSTITUTION: A user connects to a chatting service of the Internet using a browser of one's computer(200) through a modem or a LAN card. The user transmits one's ID and password to a chatting site and performs a log-in process for entering to a chatting site(210). The user selects a wanted chatting room(220). The user selects a character for displaying oneself(230). A chatting is processed among users in the room(240). An unexpected event is generated at a predetermined time decided in a chatting system(250). It is judged whether the event is progressed continuously(260). If the event is progressed continuously, a state according to the event is progressed, and the user performs a chatting service and participates in the event(270). If the event is terminated, the process is returned(280).
