A protective member for planographic printing plate is disposed so that a coefficient X of static friction between the protective member for planographic printing plate and an image forming surface is larger than a coefficient Y of static friction between the protective member for planographic printing plate and a non-image forming surface. The protective member slides more with respect to the non-image forming surface than with respect to the image forming surface.
