A heat pipe network (25) for a satellite or spacecraft (10) is disclosed. The network is constructed from formed and straight heat pipes (110, 112, 114, 116, 118, 120) securely connected together with a highly conductive material, such as Grafoil, serving as an interface gasket (136, 158). The heat pipe network (25) is interconnected to the subnadir panel (34) and auxiliary panels (36, 38), and thermally couples the North and South radiator panels (30, 32). High thermal dissipating units can be mounted to heat pipes on panels attached to the main spacecraft radiator panels. The heat pipes transfer the thermal energy to the radiator panels where it is radiated to space. <IMAGE> |
