PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet carrying device capable of avoiding a sheet contacting with a shaft of roller pairs and capable of reducing the size. SOLUTION: A circulating carrying system 86 has the roller pairs 102b, etc., for carrying a storage phosphor sheet S, for example, in an attitude of substantially horizontally lying down. The roller pairs 102b, etc., first and second connecting side rollers 206a and 206b for integrally rotating by being connected to the shaft 204 and respectively independently constituted first and second nonconnected side rollers 208a and 208b. The first and second nonconnected side rollers 208a and 208b are arranged on the lower side than the first and second connecting side rollers 206a and 206b, that is, on the deflecting side of the storage phosphor sheet S.
