PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EL display device and an electronic device in which a contour line of display part is not copious in a non-light emitting state. SOLUTION: The EL display unit 1 has a positive electrode 3, a negative electrode 5 and an organic EL layer 4 installed between the positive electrode 3 and the negative electrode 5, and these positive electrode 3 and negative electrode 5, at a surface of the front face side of the positive electrode 3 (the surface of the opposite side of the organic EL layer 4 of the positive electrode 3), the first substrate 2 is installed, and at a surface of rear face side of the negative electrode 5 (the surface of the opposite side of the organic EL layer 4 of the negative electrode 5), the second substrate 6 is installed. The organic EL layer 4 has a positive hole carrier layer 41 that is installed at the positive electrode 3 side and an electron carrier layer 42 that is installed at the negative electrode 5 side. At an interface neighborhood of the electron carrier layer 42 in the positive hole layer carrier 41, a luminous layer 43 is formed. The organic EL layer 4 constitutes the display part that is formed as a predetermined pattern shape which corresponds to display contents, and the negative electrode 5 is formed at a region including this display part. |
