摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a phenomenon that the surface of a developing roller is electrically insulated by residual toner and normal developing bias is not applied because toner easily adheres to the developing roller side due to developing bias in the case of stopping the rotation of the developing roller immediately after performing magnetic shielding, and the layer of the residual toner on the developing roller gets thick in an electrophotographic developing device where the magnetic shielding to a layer thickness regulating position and releasing it are performed according to the position of a magnet by arranging a layer thickness regulating member having the magnet on a more upstream side than a developing position by the developing roller having a fixed magnet assembly inside. SOLUTION: The magnetic shielding is performed by making the magnet face to the developing roller, and the developing roller is rotated several times in such a state, whereby the toner on the developing roller is rubbed and removed. Thereafter, the developing roller is stopped to prevent the adhesion of the residual toner.
