PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of skew and lateral slide due to lifting in the center of a paper sheet caused by pressure from a paper feed roller in a manual paper feed tray. SOLUTION: On the upstream side of the paper feed roller 46 in its feed direction, a pressing member 54 is provided for pressing the top surface of paper sheets P3 placed on the manual paper feed tray 44. The pressing member 54 has a blade spring 58 and an abutting member 62 having a curving surface.
