<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep repulsiveness and a ball hitting feeling, and improve durability by forming a cover of an ionomer resin composition by blending an aluminium borate whisker. SOLUTION: A cover is formed of a resin component by blending an aluminium borate whisker by using an ionomer resin such as an ethylene unsaturate carboxylic acid copolymer as a main material. Surface treatment may be performed on this aluminium borate whisker by a coupling agent to strengthen coupling property with the ionomer resin. A blending rate of the aluminium borate whisker is set to 3 to 35wt.%. When it is not more than 3wt.%, a durability improving effect is not attained, and dispersion of the aluminium borate whisker is deteriorated, and when it is not less than 35wt.% and repulsiveness is reduced. Impact resistance, abrasion resistance and repulsiveness of a golf ball can be improved by this cover.</p> |
