PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire feeder for a welding torch, a wire feeder that can reduce weld defect by smoothing wire passage for a welding torch and preventing spatter from depositing on a nozzle inner face or a tip outer face at the tip end of the torch. SOLUTION: To a torch joint 2 for feeding a wire W to a welding torch 3, there is attached a dripping type applicator unit 4 for the purpose of applying a lubricating solution to the outer surface of the wire W. As the dripping type applicator unit 4, a dispenser 5 can be used that operates to supply the lubricating solution with a fixed quantity by introducing a part of the shielding gas of the welding torch 3.
