PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interface processing method for a programmable controller and a controller using the same, where even if an operation of a function unit terminated within one scan, a CPU unit can detect that the function unit has terminated through the operation. SOLUTION: In the case the operation has terminated during from the start of operation up to T13 of next I/O refreshment processing period, the function unit keeps OFF state of a notice contact, and in T23 of an operation period after passing through T13, the notice contact is turned on. While, by OFF state of the notice contact received in T13, the CPU unit detects that the function unit has started the operation. In T14 of I/O refreshment period next to the point in which the notice contact is turned on, the CPU unit receives ON state of the notice contact to detect that the function unit has terminated the operation.
