PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recording head which can prevent wiping failures, etc., without being enlarged and can stabilize discharging. SOLUTION: This recording head is equipped with a nozzle plate 17 having a nozzle array 7 formed thereto and is used in a recording apparatus including a wiper member for wiping a nozzle face of the nozzle plate 17. A position of the nozzle array 7 in the nozzle plate 17 is shifted in a direction A of wiping by the wiper member to increase the nozzle face of the side L1 where the wiper member enters. Therefore, the region L1 before wiped after the wiper member butts against the nozzle face before the wiper member reaches the nozzle array 7 is made sufficiently large. The wiper member stably adheres to the nozzle face before reaching the nozzle array 7, so that the wiping, etc., is sufficiently carried out. Not only wiping failures are prevented and discharging is stabilized, but the recording head is not required to be larged.
