PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To molecularly detect a myelodysplastic syndrome(MDS) conventionally having hardness of an optimum treatment due to difficulty in differentiation from leukemia and to obtain a new therapeutic agent. SOLUTION: A Dlk gene especially useful for detecting MDS is identified by a BAckground-Matched Population screening(BAMP screening) method in order to detect data having truly biological meanings from the comparison of gene expression of two kinds of cell groups. The molecular diagnosis of MDS is made possible by detecting the expression of Dlk. MDS is detected by using an increase in expression of Dlk gene in a specimen or connection of Dlk gene expression product in the specimen and anti-Dlk antibody as an index. |
