PURPOSE: A plasma display is provided to prevent that an orange color light influence a red, green, and blue light for forming a screen image with a discharge gas by forming a light absorbing layer on the lower face of a substrate. CONSTITUTION: An address electrode(42) of a predetermined pattern is formed on the upper side of a substrate(41). A first dielectric layer(43) is formed on the substrate(41) formed by the address electrode(42) and fills the address electrode(42). The substrate(41) is coupled with a transparent front plate(51) and fills a discharge space. Plural electrodes composed of a common electrode(52) and a scan electrode(53) are formed on the lower face of the front plate(51) corresponding to the first dielectric layer by a predetermined pattern. The common electrode(52) and the scan electrode(53) are composed of a transparent ITO(Indium Tin Oxide). Bus electrodes are formed on the common electrode and the scan electrode in order to reduce a line resistance. A second dielectric layer(56) is formed on the lower surface of the front plate(51) formed by the common electrode(52) and the scan electrode(53) and the bus electrode. A protecting layer comprised of a MgO is formed on the second dielectric layer(56) in order to protect the dielectric layer from a discharge. A barrier(58) is formed between the first and second dielectric layer(43,56).
