METHOD FOR OPERATING BOILER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for operating boiler by which the fuel component of dust contained in the waste combustion gas of the boiler can be utilized effectively while the metallic component of the dust is efficiently treated. SOLUTION: This method for operating boiler includes a first step of burning petroleum coke and heavy oil as fuel in the combustion chamber of the boiler and collecting the dust contained in the waste combustion gas of the boiler by means of a dust collector, a second step of extracting at least part of the dust collected in the first step with acidic water, and a third step of extracting the solid extracted in the second step with alkaline water. The method also includes a fourth step of burning the solid extracted in the third step in the boiler.
