PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast reception system and a portable information terminal which make it possible to view program guide information through easy operation without disturbing a person viewing a program. SOLUTION: This system is equipped with a digital broadcast receiver 2 which receives a digital signal broadcasted having program guide data multiplexed with a video signal of television, a television receiver 4, and the portable information terminal 3 which communicates with the digital broadcast receiver 2. The digital broadcast receiver 2 extracts the program guide data from the received digital and stores them in a storage means 22, and sends the program guide data through a transmission and reception control means 26 when requested to send the program broadcast data through a transmission and reception control means 26, and the portable information terminal 3 sends a command requesting the transmission of the program guide data by an operation means 33 through the transmission and reception control means 36 and displays the program guide data received through the transmission and reception control means 36 at a display means 35. |
