PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject cosmetic composition excellent in transferproofness, capable of imparting glossy appearance to the skin, and good in feeling when applied. SOLUTION: This cosmetic composition is obtained by including at least one volatile hydrocarbon-based solvent, at least one nonvolatile silicone compound soluble or dispersible in the above solvent, and at least one nonvolatile hydrocarbon-based oil miscible with the above solvent and incompatible with the above nonvolatile silicone compound; wherein the nonvolatile hydrocarbon- based oil to be used has solubility parametersδD andδa satisfying the relationships: 16.40 (J/cm3)1/2<=δD<=19.00 (J/cm3)1/2 and 2.00 (J/cm3)1/2<=δa<=9.08 (J/cm3)1/2.
