PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a submergible motor pump capable of keeping in operation without sucking sands and stones from the lower side of its inlet even if the lower surface of the under-water pump is brought into contact with the ground while a water level is being low with its drainage advanced, and also provide the submergible pump capable of pumping water without generating suction voltexes even if the water level from the water surface to a suction port is shallow. SOLUTION: A suction port 3 opened in a circumferential shape is provided for a space between a pump casing 1 and an under-water pump 7. If the portion locking downward of the suction port 3 is covered by a gravel suction prevention cover 5 by way of a specified gap, any gravel and the like can be prevented from being sucked in. And if the portion locking upward of the suction port 3 is also covered by a suction voltex prevention cover by way of a specified gap from suction port 3, no suction voltex will be incurred.
