PURPOSE: An automatic pile driving energy measuring device for a hammer and a method thereof are provided to easily determine the performance or aging of the hammer, and the fidelity of the pile driving work. CONSTITUTION: A device for automatically measuring a pile driving energy of a hammer includes a magnetic element attached to a surface of a RAM for measuring a position of a hammer, position sensors(L1,L2,R1,R2) mounted in a RAM housing with a predetermined interval for generating a magnetic change when a RAM passes the magnetic element while lifting or lowering to inform a position of the RAM, and a control box for detecting an electric signal generated when the magnetic element attached to the RAM is passing by the sensors mounted to the RAM housing in synchronization with time clocks to automatically measure the position of the RAM, the change of velocity, and the change of motion amount.
