PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereo image processor capable of exactly recognizing the erroneous correspondence of images. SOLUTION: On the basis of the distribution of matching errors, a correspondent candidate parallax extracting part 104 extracts a disparity Dp=m1 (fist correspondent candidate disparity) which becomes the matching error (primary peak error) of a minimum value Em1, and a disparity Dp=m2 (second correspondent candidate disparity) which becomes the matching error (secondary peak error) of the next smallest value Em2. An erroneously correspondent pixel recognizing part 105 finds the difference between the value of the error in the first correspondent candidate disparity and the value of the error in the second correspondent candidate disparity ('the difference between the value of the secondary peak error and the value of the primary peak error') and recognizes a pixel having the value of this difference smaller in comparison with a preset threshold Th as a pixel having high possibility of erroneous correspondence.
