<p>Cocoa procyanidins and cocoa extracts which include procyanidin monomers and their oligomers are useful in the modulation of an immune response in a mammal and the modulation of an inflammatory response in a mammal. The cocoa procyanidins and liquid or dry cocoa extracts can be included in foods, food supplements and pharmaceuticals for the modulation of cytokine gene product and protein levels and for providing beneficial effects to subjects suffering from asthma or viral infections or at risk of viral infections.</p> |
