[Also in Division F4] In an ignition system a capacitor 31 and the primary winding 28 of an ignition transformer 27 are connected in series with a first circuit means 40 operable when connected to a source of A.C. voltage 14 to provide a path for charging the capacitor through the primary winding, only during those half cycles of the A.C. voltage source are in one predetermined sense. There is provided a second circuit means 30 connected in parallel with the first circuit means, the second circuit means being normally non-conducting and being arranged to conduct unidirectionally when suitably actuated in the sense opposite to that of the first circuit means. Means 55 are provided operable when connected to the A . C. voltage source to actuate the second circuit means to conduct during an initial short part of those half cycles of the A.C. voltage in which the capacitor is charged. The system is combined with a burner primary control circuit 11 (see also Group F4).</p> |
