PURPOSE: A method for diagnosing an error of a MAP sensor is provided to detect the error of the MAP sensor when the MAP sensor generates an inaccurate data by detecting the inaccurate data. CONSTITUTION: An output of a MAP sensor is determined whether it is in a predetermined range. If the output of a MAP sensor is obviated from the predetermined range, it is determined whether an engine is in a low-speed and low load area or in a high-speed and high-load area. The output of the MAP sensor is compared with a maximum value of the MAP sensor which is generated in the low-speed and low-load area. If the output of the MAP sensor exceeds the maximum value of the MAP sensor, it is determined that the map sensor has fault. In addition, The output of the MAP sensor is compared with a minimum value of the MAP sensor which is generated in the high-speed and high-load area. If the output of the MAP sensor is below the minimum value of the MAP sensor, it is determined that the map sensor has fault.
