PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a heat loss due to a high-temperature refrigerant flowing in an evaporator when the operation of a compressor is stopped. SOLUTION: A refrigerating plant is provided with a compressor 21, a condenser 22, and a plurality of evaporators 25 and 26 which are connected in series. The plant is also provided with a pressure reducing device 24 having a fully closing function between the condenser 22 and the front evaporator 25. When the operation of the compressor 21 is stopped, therefore, the temperature fluctuations in first and second cooling chambers 30 and 31 can be reduced and, at the same time, energy conservation can be devised economically by preventing the high-temperature refrigerant left in the condenser 22 from flowing in the evaporators 25 and 26 by fully closing the pressure reducing device 24.
