A multiple drawer charnel unit for accommodating a plurality of lockable drawers with each drawer for receiving and storing human bone powder envelopes and having a knob for opening and closing the drawer, a stone plate front of the drawer for carving or printing a person's name, date of birth, death date, and management number and a lid to cover the drawer is disclosed. The plurality of drawers are slidably positioned behind a pair of lockable pull doors secured to the charnel unit by hinges, with each door having a window pane through which to view each drawer front, such that, in use, the doors can be opened and each drawer can be slidably withdrawn to permit entry via the lid to the envelopes stored in each drawer. A plate is attached to each envelope affixing a photo and brief history of the person. The charnel unit may also include compartments for positioning an anti-worm agent, an anti-moisture agent and an aroma agent. |
