<p>A motor unit (14) is provided for operating an internal hub transmission, and a speed sensor (18) is mounted to the motor unit (14) for detecting a speed signal external to the motor unit (14). Since the speed sensor (18) is mounted to the motor unit (14), the position of the speed sensor (18) can be securely fixed on the bicycle.
