A method and system for processing a digital image having a color function f defined on a finite set A of points in R<2>. For each of one or more points (k,l) in A, a region Kk,l in R<2> is provided containing (k,l) and containing one or more additional points (ki,li) of A. A continuous pixel set of the image is then formed, where the continuous pixel set is a union of the sets Kk,l. A function fk,l is defined on Kk,l based upon the values of f on (k,l) and on the points (ki,li). One or more objects are defined based upon the functions fk,l, the objects being sets of points in the continuous pixel set of the image. The method may be used in camera tracking or camera stabilization. |
