The unaided eye is extremely sensitive to slight variations in color density in signage, particularly when backlit. Optical uniformity is a particularly desired characteristic in backlit applications, such as informational kiosks, advertisements, and the like. In multilayer films (10) having a percent light transmission of about 5 % to about 85 %, the combination of two or more layers, wherein at least two of the layers contain pigment, randomizes the color density that may exist for each of the pigmented layers (12, 14) singly. Thus, the combination of at least two pigmented layers yields a more optically uniform multilayer film. |
