<p>An automatic vent (30) has a cup (32) including a bottom wall (38), a side wall (40), an open top, and an inlet for introducing fluid into a compartment (42) defined by the bottom and side walls (38, 40). A valve assembly (34) of the automatic vent includes a cap (50) disposed over the open top of the cup (32). The cap (50) has a body (54) with an upwardly facing surface (60), a downwardly facing surface (62), a bore (64) formed within the body (54) for enabling fluid communication between the compartment (42) and atmosphere, and an annular rim (66) provided around the bore on the downwardly facing surface (62). A lever arm (52) is hingedly connected at one end thereof to the body (54) of the cap adjacent the annular rim.</p> |
