PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry without damaging processed bags in a line as to a lateral vacuum packaging machine. SOLUTION: In a lateral vacuum packaging machine, a plurality of vacuum chambers freely operable are rotated and moved and moved along a horizontal annular path, and during this process, a bag filled with contents is received in the vacuum chamber, which is then closed for vacuum packaging the bag and then opened for the bag to be taken out. At the inside of each vacuum chamber cover 2a, a sucker 13 for holding temporarily the bag W by vacuum suction is mounted, and a product conveyor 4 for carrying the bag to a bag bringing-out position along the annular path is provided. This conveyor 4 is positioned between the chamber cover 2a and a main body 2b opened vertically at a discharge position for receiving the bag W released from the sucker 13 and for carrying the bag to the outside of the machine.
