PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high contrast and high definition surface treated film by incorporating organic dyes selected from a quinacridone dye, a disazo yellow dye, an azomethine dye and a phthalocyanine dye. SOLUTION: Organic dyes selected from a quinacridone dye, a disazo yellow dye, an azomethin dye and a phthalocyanine dye are incorporated into a surface treated film for a display device. When these dyes are used, the film can be made achromatic by magenta, green and yellow dyes because the quinacridone magenta dye has the absorption peak in the range of 500-600 nm and the phthalocyanine green dye having absorption in the range of 650-670 nm and the disazo yellow dye having flat absorption in the range of 380-450 nm assume complementary colors to magenta. A wavelength selective absorption film having good contrast characteristics is obtained.
