PURPOSE: A driving car speed and an object speed are compared, and an appropriate transmission is maintained by an automatic control device of manual transmission of unmanned free automobile. CONSTITUTION: A camera(1) takes a road condition. A visual control device(2) receives the visual signal of the camera(1), and outputs an object speed and an object transmission. Gear position sensors(9, 10) senses a gear position. A car speed sensor(13) senses a driving car speed. A central processing unit(3) receives the signals from the visual control device(2), the gear position sensors(9, 10), and the car speed sensor(13). The central processing unit(3) compares a running car speed and gear position with the object car speed and the object transmission, and outputs a control signal to shift the gear when the running car speed and gear position are identical with the object car speed and the object transmission. Driving circuits(4, 5) receives the signal from the central processing unit(3), and outputs motor driving signal to shift the gear. Motors(7, 8) are driven by the output signal from the driving circuits(4, 5). A transmission shaft(12) is driven by the motors(7, 8). A transmission lever(11) is connected to the transmission shaft(12).
