PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a data recording medium capable of enlarging the size of a reproducing image larger than that of the recording image. SOLUTION: Rugged lines 14 formed on a surface of an optical waveguide layer is formed such that, in an area 32 on an upstream side in a propagating direction of light against a prescribed center area 31, the lines 14 are formed with a pitch space smaller than the repeated pitch in the center area 31, and that, in the area 33 on the downstream side, the lines are formed with the pitch space larger; thus, a reproduced image is obtained that is enlarged in the propagating direction of light.
