PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To excellently remove specific light having a narrower bandwidth without thickening a dry plate. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method for a holographic notch filter, a periodic refraction index modulation is recorded in a dry plate by exposing the dry plate with interference fringes caused by two-beam interference, and the exposed dry plate is developed and fixed. During manufacturing the filter, the periodic refractive index modulation recorded in the dry plate is controlled such that desired higher order light of the same wavelength as a wavelength of light to be removed is reflected when light is incident on the filter after manufacturing the filter.
