PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a low-cost color image forming device in which photoreceptors and toners for color images can be used for the same period of time. SOLUTION: The color image forming device has plural photoreceptors and adopts a tandem system. A means of electrifying a photoreceptor which records a black electrostatic image is a non-contact type electrostatic charger and means of electrifying photoreceptors which separately record color electrostatic images other than the black image are contact type electrostatic chargers. The thickness of an electric charge transferring layer in the photoreceptor for black is larger than that of an electric charge transferring layer in each of the photoreceptors for the other colors. The viscosity average molecular weight of a bonding resin used in the electric charge transferring layer in the photoreceptor for black is larger than that of a bonding resin used in the electric charge transferring layer in each of the photoreceptors for the other colors.
