摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a position measuring apparatus in which the location of a measured object (a peripheral structure) can also be confirmed easily after measurement by recording the locational information of an object associating the positional information of the object with the information of the traveling position of a vehicle. SOLUTION: The position measuring apparatus 14 mounted on a vehicle 13 traveling on a track 11 comprises a traveling laser range finder 15 positioned at the upper end of a supporting member 21 standing on the vehicle 13 and subjected to forward/ reverse control to scan a range of 360 deg. thus operating the propagation time after laser pulse is projected before it s reflected on a peripheral structure (object) B, and a scanning laser range finder control section 16 for operating the distance to the peripheral structure B based on a propagation time received from the traveling laser range finder 15 and generating objective coordinates operated from the objective distance and a pulse light projecting direction (angle) in forward/reverse rotation time management as the positional information of the peripheral structure B. The objective positional information is associated with the traveling distance information of the vehicle 13 measured by an odometer 18 and the locational information of the peripheral structure B is edited and recorded in an incorporated memory.
