PURPOSE: A method and a device for a remote guide are provided to connect with a guide system through a portable communication device like a cellular phone or a PCS, and to receive a remote guide service in voice or text for corresponding relics and places on the spot one-to-one. And the method and device guide foreigners with their native languages. CONSTITUTION: Remote guide service codes(12) are assigned correspondingly to each guide place. A remote guide service code is inputted through a wireless communication network(40) of a portable communication device(20) such as a cellular phone or a PCS, to call a remote guide system(50). The remote guide system reads a corresponding guide message in a database(52) in reply to the received remote guide service code, and transmits the read guide message through the wireless communication network. The portable communication device outputs the received guide message through the wireless communication network.
