PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote monitoring device which can monitor and inspect fire detectors installed in plural buildings from a remote place. SOLUTION: In this monitoring device, a center device C, fire detectors S1 to Sn which are installed in a building A and detect fire in the building A and terminal equipment 1 monitoring the states of the fire detectors S1 to Sn are connected through communication lines T1 and T2. The center device C is provided with a means for transmitting the inspection request signals of the fire detectors S1 to Sn to terminal equipment 1 installed in the building A being an inspection object through the communication lines T1 and T2 and giving information in accordance with an inspection result when the inspection result from terminal equipment 1 transmitting the inspection request signal is received.
