PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To check and repair jet pump riser pipe in the case of generation of crack without replacing at least a part of shroud or draining reactor water. SOLUTION: In the opening 28 of a transition piece 14 connected to the upper part of a riser pipe of a jet pump, a base plate 33 having a seal member 31 is sat. A stud 34 is attached on the base plate 33 and a ceiling plate 36 is attached to the stud 34. In the ceiling plate 36, a projection 36a for inserting in the recess part 14a formed in the transition piece 14 is provided. By this, a seal device 30 can be detachably installed in the opening 28 of the transition piece 14 provided at the upper part of the riser pipe 12. Thus, the riser pipe 12 of the jet pump 11 is surely sealed and check and repair work can be conducted in a short time without draining reactor water.
