The invention relates to a detector and to a detection method for passively taking a sample from bodies of water and sewage, foodstuffs, beverages, sediments and soil. The invention makes it possible to obtain a comprehensive representation, with regard to lines, areas or even volumes, of the searched substance parameter relationships and flow relationships from explored compartments and/or to determine, over a length of time, a comprehensive representation, with regard to lines, areas or even volumes, of the searched substance parameter relationships and flow relationships. The inventive detector ( passive collector ) offers substantial economical and technical advantages compared to prior art detectors.
