PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display an amount of a remaining tape of a loaded tape cassette to a remaining tape amount display part before the amount is obtained on the basis of a tape run amount and a reel rotation amount when a power source of a deck is turned on again after having cut with the cassette loaded in the deck. SOLUTION: When a power source is supplied again after having been cut with a cassette loaded to a tape cassette load part 114, and before diameter data of tapes respectively wound to a supply reel and a take-up reel are outputted from a diameter operation part 108, a remaining tape amount display part 111 displays data of an amount of the remaining tape with the use of remaining tape amount data stored in a memory circuit 107 which is a remaining tape amount data storage means.
