A battery case excellent in external glossiness and work efficiency and a surface treated steel sheet suitably used for producing the battery case. The battery case is obtained by forming, by a deep drawing, DI forming or DTR forming method, a surface treated steel sheet having glossy nickel-cobalt alloy plating on the outermost layer of a plating blank sheet consisting of a steel sheet. The outermost glossy nickel-cobalt alloy plated layer has a high glossiness to offer an excellent appearance. The molded battery case has an excellent flowing characteristic and provides a good work efficiency. |
