PURPOSE: A system for automatically controlling a traffic signal light is provided to prevent the traffic mess by detecting cars waiting outside the stopping line and generating a signal for controlling a traffic signal light. CONSTITUTION: A sensor(10) is installed on a traffic signal light of a cross road. The sensor detects cars waiting outside the stopping line, and generates a signal for controlling a traffic signal light. A traffic signal light(20) is controlled by the operational signal of the sensor(10). If any car is not detected, the traffic signal light(20) flashes a green light to pass other cars waiting in another line. If the sensor detects any car, the traffic signal light(20) is normally operated. A controlling section(30) receives the detected signal from the sensor(10). The traffic signal light(20) is controlled by the controlling section(30).
