METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DISCRIMINATING FRONT/REAR SIDE OF INFORMATION CARD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate the front/rear side of a non-contact IC card only from the response characteristics of the non-contact IC card without changing the surface/shape of the card. SOLUTION: This device uses the non-contact IC card incorporating an IC chip to discharge radio waves at a specified frequency when power is supplied to a position eccentric from a center by electromagnetic induction. Besides, the radio wave at a local position on the card surface discharged by the non- contact IC card is received by a receiving means 2, the eccentricity of the IC chip is discriminated from this signal and the front/rear side of the non- contact IC card is discriminated.
