PURPOSE: An active luminescent type liquid crystal display is provided to improve a blue color purity maintaining a screen brightness. CONSTITUTION: An active luminescent type liquid crystal display includes a back light(2), a liquid crystal cell(6), and a front glass(12). A polarizer(4) is arranged closely beside the back light(2). Then the liquid crystal cell(6), and an analyser(8) are arranged in order. A fluorescent substance having R, G, B patterns(10R)(10G)(10B) is spreaded on the inside of the front glass(12). In particular, the blue fluorescent substance(10B) has a blue filter(10F) intervened between the substance(10B) and the front glass(12). The blue filter(10F) is made of a pigment and a printing oil in the mixing ratio of 4;6, and spreaded on the front glass(12) by a screen printing. Further, it is desirable for the blue filter(10F) to have a range of 10-30% of a thickness of the fluorescent substance(10B).
