PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ITV monitoring method capable of improving operability. SOLUTION: In this ITV monitoring device, an ITV monitoring picture is displayed on the whole surface of a monitoring screen by depressing a whole screen display switching key on a keyboard or superposing a mouse pointer on a reduced monitoring picture and clicking the pointer double after the end of control of an ITV monitoring device, and when the mouse 33 or the keyboard 34 is operated in this state, the displayed picture is restored to its preceding picture. Even when these operations are not executed, the ITV monitoring picture is similarly displayed on the whole surface of the monitoring picture after the lapse of fixed time and the state displaying the whole screen monitoring picture is held until mouse operation or keyboard operation is executed.
