PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the damage of a recording medium by easily and uniformly chamfering the side edge parts of each slider to form the corner parts of opposite faces into round shapes. SOLUTION: Both side edge parts 22a of groove parts 22 formed in a slider bar 21 are pressed to wires 23 to bend the wires 23, and in this state, the slider bar 21 is slided back and forth in the direction of formation of groove parts 22 to form a curved surface, where the extent of grinding is made larger toward the corner part from the center, on each side edge part 22a. Thus, the production process is more simplified than conventional, and proper chamfering is easily performed.
