A plastically deformable strip has a corrugated metal layer (2) made of lead, aluminum or copper, 0.2 to 1.2 mm thick. On the underside the corrugations are filled with a butyl rubber adhesive sealant layer (3) to cover the peaks (10) of the corrugations and provide a self-adhesive contact surface (4). The surface (4) is protected by silicone paper (6) before use.
