PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain method and an apparatus in which a vibration is measured safely and simply without a need of an expert knowledge. SOLUTION: A high-speed video camera 11 which images a crack 1 and by which image data on the imaged crack 1 is stored at a timing faster than the vibration frequency of a gap in the crack 1 is provided. In addition, an image processing board 12 which binarizes the image data in every image data stored in the high-speed camera 11 so as to find a luminance distribution and which finds the opening width of the crack 1 on the basis of the luminance distribution is provided. In addition, a computer 13 by which the opening- displacement fluctuation amount of the crack 1 and its vibration frequency are found on the basis of a fluctuation in time change in the opening width of the crack 1 to be output from the image processing board 12 is provided. By this constitution, the opening-displacement change amount and the vibration frequency can be found in a nonconact manner, and a vibration can be measured safely and simply without a need of an expert knowledge.
